About Us

Our club, founded in 1967, maintains a club site facility with club house, 200 ft. of docks and 10,000 sq. ft. of harbor on beautiful Big Lake, Alaska. The club site is active from mid-May until mid-September.

The club owned fleet consists of a 24' RL, an Ensign, Buccaneer, Catalina 16.5, 3 Skipjacks, 1 FJ and 2 Lasers. Member owned boat types include Buccaneer, Hobie 16, Hobie 14, Laser, Skipjack, 505, Lido 14, MacGregor, Ranger, Venture, Taser, and West Wight Potter.

We are a small club of dedicated sailors with the emphasis on fun rather than protocol and blue blazers. An annual sailing class is held for beginning sailors and new members. A summer race series culminates with the annual Governor's Cup series Labor Day Weekend.

We are an active, community involved 501(c)(3) corporation with a focus on education and environmental conservation through our shoreline restoration project in partnership with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Interested parties can complete and submit membership forms for review on our Membership page (add link). We are looking for sailors, or people eager to learn to sail, and who are willing to contribute something more than just dues.
